this lasted 30 minutes

kate "drove" her car around the house for a long time tonight. note the long strand of pearls she put around her neck. she drove from room to room, turning around and heading the other direction. she had a great time. Posted by Picasa

little chef

daddy was chopping beans, mommy was sauteeing chicken, kate was playing with pot lids. she kept VERY busy. Posted by Picasa

baby in a sausage casing

um, kate's swimsuit is a little small. her daddy says she looks like a sausage in a casing. i took this little bear to the beach today-we had fun. she loved the wet sand. time for a new suit, though. i got this one at the second hand store for 3 dollars but still didn't wear it enough. Posted by Picasa

welcome to our barnyard bash

this was created to let you feel as if you were at the party. i put the pictures in order so you could experience it if you missed it. we had lagniappe staff, including clyde, helen, the larroux family minus jean III, missy, conrad, savannah, cody, mimi, mumsy (kate's grandmother, andy's mom), lisa (a friend i met down here), ruth the intern. and rosie the dog of course. also in town was mrs. jimmie sistrunk, a friend from brookhaven. she came to help me get ready for the party and was such a help-she washed windows, vacuummed, dusted my house.
we snacked on baked potato salad, mexican dip and chips, pasta salad, goldfish crackers, ham and cheese baked sandwiches, adrienne's delight (cream cheese and pineapple dip) and cake. we had peach tea and pink lemonade. we had balloons everywhere, with balloons draped across the entryways to the living room.
kate enjoyed opening gifts and her favorite was a little bang the 4 keys piano from savannah and cody. Posted by Picasa
balloons reading, "happy first birthday" and cowprint. sign on front door says, "Get ready to party!" barnyard mums in pots.  Posted by Picasa

the cake

kate's awesome, moist, yummy delicious 2 layer chocolate cake with homemade icing in a cute cowprint made by the one and only kim larroux, chef extrordinaire. it was gorgeous. Posted by Picasa

shrine to kate as you walk in

on this table we had a frame for our guests to sign so she can have a little "guestbook" to see when she's older. we had other cute pictures of kate as well as cowprint balloons for our barnyard birthday bash. Posted by Picasa
