Baby's First Halloween

Kate said she wanted to be something sweet for Halloween, so she was a sweet pea. She fell asleep in her swing in her pea costume and I saw her hand resting on the top pea. It was funny. The peas are actually green nerf balls cut in half.

Kate's Special Day

Sunday, October 30 was Kate's baptism. She did so well....she didn't even cry at all. When the pastor began to talk, she turned her head immediately in the direction of his voice to see where that strong voice was coming from. It was such an encouragement to see and hear how much God loves His children. We had lots of family there and we really appreciate those that were able to come. Kate is very blessed!

Kate was soooo tired at the end of the day she took several naps and slept for 5 hours in a row that night starting at 10 pm.

Helping Daddy

If you look in the background of this picture, you will see Andy's desk. He is a busy worker. He even holds Kate while he works! She was smiling a lot, and we tried to catch one on camera, but we still got this great pic of Kate, taken at about 2 am.

Kate sometimes likes being carried in her sling. It is sorta like a papoose that you wear around your shoulder and tummy so she can be close. Actually, it fits Andy better than me and she loves her daddy so much! He doesn't mind the zebra print, I hope.

Mumsy Visits

Kate will sleep just about anywhere with a cuddle.

Bulldog Baby

Kate was a great baby at MSU homecoming last Saturday. We were able to tailgate all afternoon because she was so good. Look at that full belly! We tailgated across from Dorman with lots of Louisville friends.

Andy is modeling our new couches that Grandmother Reese helped us find. They are very comfortable and help us take better care of our baby.

What's Goin On

Kate loves listening to music....mobile tunes, the tunes on the swing, or the CD player. She likes country music a lot, but is currently enjoying Marvin Gaye's greatest hits. I wasn't sure if it would go over well but it seems to be doing the trick. Make sure John Lake knows. He'd appreciate that.

Tate Tater

Yes, we call her the tater. Because she is a little tater tot. (Or, because if you add some extra t's to Taylor you can make Tater.) Kate kept Mommy up partying until 2 am. She just wanted me to hold her and rock her. Then she slept for 5 hours straight! I couldn't believe it. I had to go check on her to make sure she was still alive. She actually likes getting her diaper changed. I took this picture on her changing table. If she is crying, the minute we lay her on the changing pad she stops. She also smiled at me twice while she was on there today!

The Beloved Boppy

Kate loves her "boppy", which is a new product for the moms to use to hold the baby! A great invention. Kate is now big enough to sit in it. We tucked her in her boppy and she played a little.

My Mobile

today i really started to notice the animals going round on my mobile! i cried when they stopped. but mommy started them again. what a fun thing!















this a.m. mom asked dad if i slept in my pack and play bassinet last night. dad said, "yeah, for a bit. then she got in the big pack and play!" that means i was in the bed cuddled up with dad! i love to sleep and eat.

Just a Swingin

Kate loves to swing. She loves to just sit in the swing even if it's not moving. She will take a little cat nap in there. Or should we call it a Kate nap! haha. She has just now been able to watch the fish swim around the top of the swing.

Kate has given a few smiles here or there but nothing that grand. Last night while we were praying, we were thanking God for our food and also for Kate. "Thank you for Kate and that she's here with us. Amen." When we opened our eyes, Kate had the biggest smile on her face! She had her eyes closed and a wide grin across her face. She then did 2 more right after that! I guess she liked the prayer!

Kate is very alert in the mornings around 7-9. She is wide eyed. She sleeps off and on and then is wide eyed around 4. Again at 11 pm. Party time at midnight!

Great Grandmother visits

Kate's Great Grandmother Reese came for a visit this week. She celebrated her 84th birthday with us here. Kate loved to hear her talk to her.

One sock on, one sock off

I don't know how Kate did it, but she took her sock off. More than once. Look at how much she has grown! (tummy!)
















I think this is Kate's last day for the Frog Legs outfit. She was always too little for the hat that matches it...and now she's already outgrown the suit! I need to buy this girl some new clothes...she's growing quickly!

Primo Babysitter

Faith Spann has been to help us twice this week, and Kate really loves her. She is a great babysitter!
















Kate and her daddy fell asleep on a fun-filled Friday night at home. Andy finally had time to get off the phone and rest. Kate and Andy both like to cuddle (I don't know if Andy wants me to admit that) but they sleep together often. Well, when Andy gets to have some sleep.

What a morning!

Kate had her first bath in the tub this morning. She wasn't quite ready for it but we got through it! I guess I shouldn't tell this, but the reason she had to have a morning bath was because her daddy, who was on nighttime duty, forgot to change her diaper for a couple of hours, and it finally was filled to the brim...she overflowed all over his nice dress shirt. Everyone was wet then! It wasn't a total loss because Andy was so tired, it happened to be the dress shirt he was wearing yesterday. He hadn't changed clothes all night. He fell asleep in that shirt! Kate must have wanted him to change.










She settled down and enjoyed playing in the Pack and Play. She was pretty quiet in there staring at Mickey Mouse. Andy settled down too and finally put on a different shirt after he got to take a nap. Finally!
