Angel Baby

Kate got a special princess dress from her Grandmother Britt for Christmas and she wore it all morning. She looked so cute! She enjoyed holding the tulle skirt and pulling it to her mouth. Unfortunately it didn't last all afternoon so we put her back in her Baby's First Christmas onesie. She also had ruffled tights to match but didn't like those either. We had a fun Christmas in Starkville with Andy's family. Kate really enjoyed watching Zach and Sammy play.

Kate is a great present

Both dad and I agree, Kate was the best present all year!

First Presents

Kate's very first present was a silver Mississippi baby cup from her mommy and daddy. Both of them had the idea to get it for her, but mommy made it to the store first. Daddy was kinda jealous because he wanted to get it for her. She enjoyed opening it and even held it by her mouth!

Little Traveler

Kate's warm bear suit keeps her just right when we go out! It's too little as of today, though.

Kate's Christmas

Kate is wearing her favorite holiday attire, her Baby's First Christmas onesie.

Kate fits in my purse! I don't think she'd like for me to carry her in it, though.

Kate and Mommy

Kate knows Santa very well

Kate is smiling-she must be telling Santa she's been a good girl!

These are the kids that loved looking at Kate. The little boy, Clifford, couldn't get enough of her pretty face. He was very shy and would hardly talk, but he would talk to me and wanted to look at baby Kate. We read some books together with Clifford and he was happy.

Christmas time is here

We have been very busy in the season...Andy dressed up as Santa Claus for Junior Auxiliary, a charity I volunteer with. The kids that are less fortunate get to come eat donut holes and hang out with Santa for a couple of hours. Kate could tell that her daddy was dressed up like Santa and she smiled when he talked to her, beard and all. It was funny to see Andy like that. Apparently he didn't want to hitch up the reindeer so he drove our Maxima. It was so funny to see him driving the car dressed up like that!
Kate loves looking at the Christmas tree.
I think she's going to love Christmas. We are enjoying her more and more each day. She still hasn't slept as long as 8 hours that one night. In fact, it seems like she's been waking several times at night. We'll sleep again one day!

Lotty Ladybug

This is Kate's friend, Lotty. The people at Babies R Us told us this was the best toy for kids Kate's age. Someone happened to give this to us as a gift, so we were really excited. She is becoming more interested in things around her each day. She is getting on a schedule, too, and that is great. Each night she takes a bath and loves it. Then she has a snack and goes to sleep in her crib for about 3-4 hours. She listens to NPR and enjoys the classical music. Then she usually gets up 2 more times until 8 am. This is remarkably easier than it has been in the past few weeks. Everyone gets up in the house. I wouldn't know what it would be like to sleep all night! It's really fun though. Andy is so helpful and joyful even at 4 am when he's changing a dirty diaper. I am a little grumpier at that time of day.
Kate is also moving up in the clothing sizes to the 3-6 month clothes. This is bittersweet for me-she's growing up and out of those cute newborn sizes! I guess it's time to shop for her!

Playtime with Dad

on your right you'll see the lovely monkey toy... I love a good monkey.

Naptime

Her favorite way to sleep! She likes to burrow in your neck like a squirrel in a nest.

I'll give you three guesses to why her face is straining...

Afternoon Stroll

Kate and I tried to go for a walk...again. Last time was not a good time of day for her and she cried the whole way. Yesterday we walked all the way downtown and visiting on Metts street, our old neighborhood.
We had our matching Old Navy suits and it was pretty fun. She only cried because it was time to eat....so we called Dad and he came and picked us all up in the car!

13 pounds, 8 ounces

That's how much Kate weighed today at her 2 month checkup. The doctor said she was doing great! Kate had her first round of shots. She is doing very well, just sleeping a lot from the Tylenol. She is much more brave than her mommy, who couldn't watch them give the shots! I think this picture is cute because it looks like she is rubbing her full belly. She's taking a rest from all the excitement from today. Andy went with us as a great daddy to help out. And cousin Lily had her checkup at the same time today! 9 am! I hope her shots weren't too bad for her....maybe when we get together we can share boo boo stories.

Kate is cooing more and more, talking to us when we talk to her. At first I didn't know what a "coo" was but I think I know what they are talking about now. I took Kate to Wal-Mart yesterday, after 2 attempts in previous weeks that had failed-she didn't enjoy it. I talked to her the entire time and she didn't even frown one bit. It looks like I'll be able to take her out more if she keeps this up! We enjoy staying at home and trying to get into a daily routine. So far, the mornings go well. It's the rest of the day we are still trying to figure out.
