kate's new setup

no high chair, it's big girl dining from now on. this was the table i had as a little girl, and now kate has it. but mommy made it swanky so that it can dwell well. i hope she can dine like a diva!

my daily mantra

per Dr. Dobson:
"As much as they need food, safety, endless cleanups, diaper changes, toddlers need the important grown-ups in their life to be fascinated with them.
'Lord, give me the strength to get through this day' may be the repeated cry of the parent's heart (usually at 5 pm). But with it should come a postcript: 'Lord, help me understand, appreciate, and marvel at this incredible creation You have loaned to me.' Your toddler is no less fearfully and wonderfully made now that he is tearing all over the house than he was while he was being knit together in his mother's womb.

  • she can help unload dishwasher as well as throw anything in the trash when i ask her to
the only reason i am posting this is so the grandparents can be so proud of her, and i am so proud of her because just a few months ago she was whining and crying and that was it.

Things she can't say that i wish she could:
  • i am frustrated, can you please help me?
  • i want you to hand me whatever i am asking for so that i don't have to cry
  • i really need some attention from you or i am going to throw a fit
  • i hate brushing my teeth
  • i really wish i could open doors
  • i want to watch tv all day but i know you don't want me to. but it's okay.
  • i want to go play in the toilet but i know i shouldn't. so i won't.
